School Education

BTC works on Education in two ways. First, BTC forms partnerships between schools in Africa and the U.S. BTC helps the partners get to know each other and plan what they can accomplish together. In this way all partners are "educated" by learning about each other and their respective cultures. Secondly, BTC works with schools in Africa to help them become more economically self-sufficient. BTC helps develop income generating projects and at times provides micro loans or grants to get a project off the ground. BTC also helps provide school fees, supplies, sports equipment, books and computers through school partners organized in the U.S.

Baby Health Care

BTC takes a holistic approach towards all of its health care projects in Africa. BTC considers the elements of clean water access, nutrition and income generating potential when assessing health needs and strategic intervention practices. BTC works to support or set up health clinics (including HIV/AIDS) that target resource poor settings. BTC provides training for nurses and health professionals, medical supplies and management support for partner clinics. BTC also organizes “Health Camps” each year where volunteer medical personnel travel to African clinics to provide primary health care.

Village Community/Economic Development

BTC focuses on grass roots efforts to create income for non-profit organizations and African families. BTC provides micro grants and loans to partners whose work benefits a diverse community of people. BTC offers planning assistance and also uses the BTC network as a marketplace for some of the products that are produced in Africa. BTC has developed craft (jewelry) and agricultural projects (dairy cows, goats, chickens, mushrooms and spices).
